We Filipinos, are rich in terms of our literature, culture and language. But, as time passes by languages do evolve and develop.
We all know that there are a lot of uncommon words that are rarely used especially to teenagers. Maybe because of the effects of modern technologies and other stuffs. So for this blog I’m gonna talk and share with you all the 10 uncommonly used Filipino words that you may not know with its definition and example.
1.) Sulatroniko ( Email ) – it is a message distributed by electronic means from one computer to one or more recipients via a network.
Example: Ipinadala ko na ang sulatroniko ko kay Susan.
2.) Labaha ( Razor ) – it is a thing with a sharp blade usually used to remove hairs from the body.
Examples: Bumili siya ng labaha upang maahit na niya ang kaniyang balbas.
3.) Karumlan ( Menstrual Period ) – a monthly cycle of adolescent girl.
Example: May karumlan si Katrina ngayon kaya mainit ang ulo niya.
4.) Pantablay ( Charger ) – a device for charging batteries.
Example: Nakalimutan niya ang pantablay niya kaya humiram siya sa iba.
5.) Kalupi ( Wallet ) – a thing where you can put your money and cards.
Example: Nasira na ang kaniyang kalupi kaya bumili siya ng bago.
6.) Payneta ( Comb ) – used for untangling or straightening the hair.
Example: Marumi ang payneta ni Michelle.
7.) Sambat ( Fork ) – used for getting food or lifting food to the mouth.
Example: Hindi sanay kumain si Mary ng walang sambat.
8.) Kampit ( Knife ) – a thing composed of a blade used for cutting or as a weapon.
Example: Magdala ka ng kampit mamaya para sa pagluluto natin.
9.) Duyong ( Money ) – the cash, assset and property owned by someone.
Example: May maraming duyong si George.
10.) Yakis ( To sharpen ) – to make something sharp or sharper.
Example: Magpapayakis ako ng lapis.
